Looking to get into Warmachine
Hello, I'm currently in the process of selling off my AT-43 stuff and was looking to get into Warmachine. I'd like to know where you guys usually play so I can swing by and watch a game. Thanks.

Re: Looking to get into Warmachine
Hey there. There's currently a good amount of Warmahordes going on in South Florida. If you can stop by Tate's Sunday I'd be happy to give you a demo game.

Cool Stuff Games on Friday nights (big group)
Florida Super Comics on Wednesday nights (small group)
Adventure Game Store on Friday nights (??? group)
In Dade.....
I believe they play at Outland Games in Kendall on Thursday nights.
I'd call them to confirm.
I have 2 armies now, so I can demo game with you some time.

Re: Looking to get into Warmachine
I can confirm Outland plays on Thursday nights, but it's a small group with about 4-6 regulars from the days I've been able to drop by.
We're trying to get a group going at Sunshine on Mondays, but a lot of the members have been working a lot recently so they haven't been showing up. However, we do have a few regulars from the FIU gaming group showing up on Mondays at Sunshine.

Well I'm a grad student at FIU myself, but Monday and Thursday nights I do a martial arts class, so those days are out unfortunately.

Warcasters do not cost any amount of points. Instead they give you more points to use for warjacks/warbeasts. For instance, epic Stryker has a +6 point cost on his card. That means that he gets 6 free points to use only on warjacks. http://www.forwardkommander.com/ is a good site to see point costs as well as build an army list.

Re: Looking to get into Warmachine
The epic versions are not better but rather just have a different playstyle then their normal version. It's a way for privateer to advance the storyline of a caster . For instance normal Stryker is more of a support caster who buffs his army while epic Stryker is more of an assassin who will try to get the kill off.

Re: Looking to get into Warmachine
Mercs were originally free lance units and solos who would work for specific factions. While they are still used in this way, they are also their own army with internal factions.
There are some different build restrictions for Mercs - again, use the battle collenge and build tool links to plan what you'll want/need.

PP forums are also a good source for info. Drill into the faction sections.

Re: Looking to get into Warmachine
Must have Mercs
Eiryss (prime or epic) - widely viewed as the best 3 point solo in the game. She causes TONS of trouble, especially vs. warjacks. I prefer prime or pEiryss.
Lady Aiyana and Master Holt - elf wizard and cowboy combo. She is all about utility and he will be the best shot in your army after eiryss.
Cylena Raefyll & Nyss Hunters - Nasty elf assassin unit. Good shooters and surprising strong in melee.
The other unit I'd plan for is whatever lesser warlock is available to you. The lesser warlocks are great for matching up to the Hordes alpha strike power you get from beasts vs. 'jacks.
