whats up with this, i'm intrested in knowing. is it like a tournament???

It's the "bring all ya got, nothing execpt winning counts" tournament where they ramp up the points a lot and host it nationally.

Should be pretty good! Though For me it's the same weekend as the tournament in Kansas City for FOW I was going to. Maybe they'll host a game there. Hmm...

Notice that this is only happening at the store level, not the Grand Tournament which they have dumped.

If they are pushing this on too the stores, GW better treat the stores nice!

I thought Fantasy was the more balanced, more strategic game where combined arms and tactics won the game, as opposed to 40k spamming of broken units and rushing forward until your opponent cries uncle?

Pure power dice? Not counting power stones (which would be hilarious and I'll include with extra points), and rolling maximum (somehow) on Power of Darkness.

Supreme Sorceress: 4 + 5(Dagger)+4(PoD) = 13
Sacrificial dagger (kill a dude get a PD, per spell)
Power Stone x3

Supreme Sorceress: 4+4(PoD)+4 (PoD bound spell) = 12
Black Staff (Power of Darkness bound spell level 4)
Power Stone x2

Sorceress: 2+1(Cloak)+4(PoD) = 7
Darkstar Cloak (+1PD)
Power Stone

Sorceress: 2+4(PoD) = 6
Tome of Furion (+1 Spell)
Power Stone

Sorceress: 2+4(Pod) = 6
Power Stone x2

Sorceress: 2+4(Pod) = 6
Power Stone x2

Army: 2

Totaling up at 52 power dice per turn(The never going to happen ever "Maximum"). Add in an extra 22PD in Power Stones and you've got everyone dead from miscast!

Fantasy is relatively more balanced, but alot of it has to do with Characters being pretty gross.

Hard Boyz is simply people bringing the nastiest possible. In that respect it's no different then 40k.

The biggest difference I've found is that a sucky general with a power list can lose to a great general with a regular/competitive list. Tactics still play a roll even if you've got the best crap out there. Not so much for 40k, where tactical mistakes can be easily made up.

Fantasy is a more strategic and personally a better game, but really Fantasy has always been an extremely unbalanced game.

6 PD

16 PD + (min) 4 free => 20PD per turn plus 2 EoTG... and you still get 2 fighty heros.

Im sure a Tzeentch list could trump anything in powerdice and still be a playable force
