Im working on getting my Ogre's Big enough to take on some of you guys. Hopefully I wont make a fool of myself.

i'm going to go, how manny points is it going to be finally 3000 or 3500?

Same here, made a Nasty Skaven list that i know how to play well, made a Nastier VC list that i have no experience using..but is VCs and made a Strong TK list..hard to make a cheese list with TKs.

Tried making a cheese O&G list, then i stopped as i pictured wave after wave of failed animosity rolls

The sickest thing I drew up so far is the twin Temple Guard, twin Slann, twin EoTG list. 2 unstopable bounds and 22 Powerdice followed by 80 skink shots and 12-60 razordon shots per turn. Come get it!

BloodKnight Deathstar with Vamp lord that can do a possible 8 strgth 7 wounds to single model models or possible 16 wounds to multi wound models, with hatred always, and his first 4 attacks auto hit at strgth 7 on the charge. And thats just the Vamp, not counting the bloodknights and the WightKing
And when he breaks the unit, they die to the zombies he raised behind them

I was playing around with the idea of one particular list:

50x Shades

Including beefy characters that also give them:

ASF, MR(3), hotek, half BS when shooting at them, any spell directed at them that is dispelled caster takes str6 hit per casting dice, reroll shooting attacks to hit once, ItP

and some other good stuff

Play the VP denial game while trying to mop up enough points to win

I heard about the Shade deathstar, is supposed to be NASTY, but they are t3 elves when it comes down to it ,and a crapload of points tied up in them.

If i can get a couple of Ratling Guns close to them ... DAKKA DAKKA DAKKA DAKKA !!

I'm pondering if I want to take Kolek and Archaon in the same army.

It's like 1280 points for just them !

Something that expensive you gotta think wether they are gonna make their point cost back or not, 1280 on 2 guys is a shit load of points.
Besides, you never know if some ahole cuban is gonna show up with VCs and tie those guys up with 100+ zombies !

Problem is, the chaos army will be on you before you have a chance to really beef up your zombie and skellie units. Wolves can't bait and flee, being undead.. so that won't help. Maybe fell bats could help to march block, but then they'll be in charge range already.

I admit, that people will have trouble with a 3000 point 2 lord VC army and it's why I'm still considering taking them.

2 Vampire lords and 4 Vampires with upgrades = 22 attempts at casting Invokation on a 3+. Odds say that 2/3rds will be successful. which means that about 14 attempts will go through. Since the average attempt needs 2 dice to dispel, the average army would need about 28 dispel. Since most armies will have no more than 6-8 dispell dice, that means about 3-4 will be stopped and 11 or 12 spells will go through.. Allowing you to create 33-44 skellies every turn or 44-55 skellies if you have a corpse cart. Zombies you would get even more.

Wow that's cheezy.

problem is, the magic phase will take like a half hour each turn. Which means less killing time and also means less fun overall in the game.

But Hard Boyz scenarios can be tricky and aren't always based on VP's if I remember.

Problem also is that is 2 1/2 hour games, those long magic phases could screw you up.

Nate is running this event, I will post some sign up info for it tomorrow.

Chaos Dwarves are IN, but the new Skaven book will not be allowed until the 2010 event.

Sunshine is not listed as a participating store. Dan or Nate, you may want to speak to Joel about correcting that.

Tate's is listed, but per Brad - the event will take place on Sunday, September 27th. Note that playing twice (Saturday and Sunday) and getting caught will disqualify you from both tournements.

Anyone who has 3000 points of chaos dwarves should be allowed to play cause that shit is expensive.

So, do you guys think if I get enough practice games I'd be able to participate? I don't expect to win much, but I'd love to field that many Ogres!

Of course you should !

There's no buy in cost and like you said, it's not like we do 3000 point friendly games that often.
