With Horrors as a core choice, you can take as many "wizards" as you want. and at 3,000 points , that's alot of wizards. Not to mention the blue scribe and Lords of Change and all that goodness.

WOC, oddly enough, not that many power dice with Tzeentch, but they can be very effective. If you bunch together a few of Chaos sorcerers with the MOT, give one of them the skull of Katam, then give each one the blood of Tzeentch... then you have all your wizards adding +2 to all their rolls and re-rolling one dice of their choice with each casting. Not bad.

The difference with all those lists and the VCs is that VC's, if used appropriately, will rarely ever miscast. The vast majority of the magic phase will be spent on raising, which only requires 1 powerdie.

But still, all that magic that you guys showed is pretty ridiculous.

Im laying it on the table right now Stefano.....if you start casting 22 spells a turn im gonna hit you on the head with a rubber bat, and then im gonna defecate on top of your army.

Sadly, that just doesn't sound like a fun game to me.

I concur, which is why I'll probably still fly up for the FOW tournament rather then play in the opening round.

Last year I had 17 power dice in my themed 3500 point Tzeentch HoC army. LoC, Lord on Disc, Knights, Warriors, Horrors, and Chariots. I finished 3rd.

Stephen had the Empire gunline of doom. Handgunners, Crossbowmen, Knights, Pope Mobile, Stank, Giant, and multiple canons. He took 2nd.

Luis ran Khalidra with many Chariots, Archers, SSCs, and the Casket. He took 1st.

Nate ran the witch king on Dragon.
JC brought @250 rats.
Dale had Chaos Dwarves with Guns, Earthshakers, and Canons galore.

We had a blast.
Remember - this is a game. Don't take it too seriously and it is always fun.

I was kinda looking foward to taking a dump on Stehpans zombies ...... hittign him over the head with a rubber bat woulve been xtra.

I like those big games, even if i do bad , its still fun asll hell to play.

On the semifinals io faced a guy with the Thorek gunline from the 9th level of hell, i took my O&G, how i managed to Tie that game is still a mistery to me.

I was playing with AB and you can make a 32PD Tz DoC list with 28PD (Kairos, LoC, 4xHoTs, 6xPower Vortex, 10xHorror mage units)

This is much worse IMO
4xHoT (Master of Sorcery, Flames of Tz)
Blue Scribes
4x30 Horrors (4+ ward)
3x6 Flamers w/ Pyrocasters
22 PD + scribes (4xBolt of Change, 4xRoBI)
22 d6 S4 shots

Themed. Very playable. Tough as nails.
Now all you need is $530 in Horrors

That's what's great about skelletons and zombines..

If someone takes a shit on them, you just wipe it off and they still look pretty good.


Bill, that army you posted above is ridiculous. Probably almost unbeatable.

BTW.. what happens when a horror unit rolls a miscast?

Wow..

that's pretty inconsequential.. compare to what happens to a regular wizard.

I think the WHOLE UNIT should blow up!

Can you have duplicate magical items in the same army? I thought you could only have one of each, unless they were under the common magical item section.

The mark can be duplicated to give all heros a +2 to cast if within 3" of the Skull of Katam holder. However, only one sorc would be able to take the Blood of Tzeentch Arcane item.

IIRC, even common items can not be duplicated in a single list (they are just common as in available to most armies)

One exception is the Daemon Army where hero upgrades are considered "gifts" and it was ruled by GW that they can be duplicated (part of why they are broken - you can stack the best stuff). There may be other rare army exceptions.

VCs bloodline powers are an exception. As multiple vampires can take the same bloodline powers.

Looks like they nerfed that for WOC, since Chaos gifts can only be taken one per army.

Brets can take the same virtue, but it costs 3 times as much.

I think that is what they should have done, cause it makes sense. The rarity of it anyways.

So, I just found out a couple of days ago that this date is the same weekend as Hurricon 09!

They usually run a Fantasy tournament so it wouldn't surprise me if they try to sign up as one of the spots for the Hardboyz!

Usually they take place in Orlando and me and Erik went last year to play in the FOW tournament. I'm going to try to go again this year to play in both Fantasy and FOW if I can convince them to put Fantasy on Saturday!

Any takers?? Sharing a room would cut the cost WAY down (plus gas too!)

Joel will hold the Fantasy Ard'Boys on sunday July 12, he spoke to GW and they say is ok to do it on that date cause he has a big magic tournament that saturday.

How on Earth is he gonna run the Fantasy Hardboyz 2 MONTHS before the date? They usually give senerios and guidelines for the tournament, none of which are available yet!

I mean I guess if worse comes to worse we can always just play there and the ones that don't make top 3 can travel up to Orlando to play at Hurricon!

Are the rules going to be posted on this tourny? Are OOP and storm of chaos armies allowed?

LOL, OOPS, sorry, that was for the 40k ardboys, not the fantasy one. sorry !

GW will release an 'Ard Boyz rule pack (PDF) prior to the event. The 40k event hits soon so it should not be long.

IIRC (for last year's rule pack) - you are restricted to armies with a current codex. House rules exceptions can always be made for store level rounds.
