Yes, rollo. This should free up everyones army, allowing them to not have to take crappy choices. My ideal list for SMs is something like this; MOTF on a bike with Beamer accompanying 3x melta attack bikes, Vulkan, Lysander, 3x full units of sternguard and one plasma dread.

Man, I'd be curious to try other variations later on, such as more heavies or more fast attack.

Oh, I will. My goal is to run fun tournament games that allow you tofield what you want. Ideally next time I wan to try a sidebar. Thing is when one opens up the heavy choices, it comes down to who can afford more. That would suck for someone who went up against 18x broadsides or six thunderfire cannons.

Re: 40k Tournament September 11th Saturday, 2K
18 Broadsides is NUTZ! Who the hell has that many? I have my full complement of 9 and I cried myself to sleep for 6 months after when I realized how much it cost.
Note: 9 broadsides and 3 hammerheads I do have. That would be fairly nutz.

That'll work until you cant get fortune off or MCs roam all over! Other than that , it does seem fairly scary.

Yea, getting an all carnifex, trygon and mawloc list would be insane. Maybe next tournament will be Spearhead! You could use all broadsides and hammerheads.

Wounding MC's on a 2+ would be impressive if they didn't do the same to you and your 4+ save to their 3+ save!

Warlocks are also WS5, I5, and have more attacks- and a rerollable 4+sv is better than a 3+

Assuming you get fortune off. Everything in a vacuum either rocks or sucks. Not saying seer councils suck, but they are no where near as powerful as they were. Heck, let's use thunder hammer storm shield termies instead of MC's, seer councils are still screwed. Both MC's and th/ss termies wreck face on just about everything they touch.

So are you in Ceasar? Go for it. Hell, imagine not having to use fire warriors.

Certainly in a normal army. In 2000pts you could easily fit 30 JB warlocks and 3 farseers. I can't think of a MC they wouldn't be able to get the charge on. 3x seer council against an equal number of points of MC? NP. Against anything but spacemarines you'd be hard pressed to fail a rerollable psychic defense on 3 dice.
Terminators? If they're on foot- np, otherwise yeah- it'd be tough.
With all the space-marine psychic defense- seer councils are a no go. Otherwise they'd be good. The redundancy of 3 units of 10 would be interesting.

That's also assuming someone spent that much money on large amounts of either unit. If I could borrow 9 fexes and 3 hive tyrants with guard , I would test the theory. You could borrow my council and someone else's. It'd be a sight to see if nothing else.

Re: 40k Tournament September 11th Saturday, 2K
ok then well count me out (personal opinion its stupid thats not how the game is played........no strategm its just hey i have more firepower/crazier units than you so i win)
Re: 40k Tournament September 11th Saturday, 2K
If we included all the rules, you would probably leave before the first game. Imagine deep striking Mawlocs and trygons assaulting when they deep strike. A game could be lost by turn two. This is dumbed down for ease. 1d3 orbital bombardments and being able to set up all terrain is nothing to laugh about. Those are our pseudo stratagems.

Re: 40k Tournament September 11th Saturday, 2K
So would anyone else prefer to just run standard missions for this tourny? It's not too late to change. I can always reserve something different in the future.

Re: 40k Tournament September 11th Saturday, 2K
Yeah, as much as I'd like to say go for it, the Orbital Bombardments alone seem overpowered as-is. Too much of a game-changer early on when used on certain armies. At the very least drop that piece honestly.

Re: 40k Tournament September 11th Saturday, 2K
Dude, really? You made everyone you played with uncomfortable. You got visibly angry each time. Th first game, I had to say was warranted. Then you stormed out at the end. I like you and really want you to compete. If that means doing standard missions, I am kool with it. I don't want anyone to feel cheated, not even one person. Tone also does not translate well in text so sorry if you feel slighted, not intended. Just so you know, you are the reason I went back to SMs. I felt like a douche last game we played, my list was pure cheese and I didn't really enjoy it. Just remember that when we do these tournaments, cheese is the main course of the day.
Sorry, again if I offended you Rollo.
