Warhammer Ancient Battles?

Hey everyone.So Joel told me today that he's gonna start carrying WAB stuff.Who plays this? I'd like to take a look at the rules for it(I'm not gonna start playing another game,I just wanna see it.)

I know people who sell it here in Nashville but I haven't seen it played. I do also know that there was a tournament in NashCon for it, so I guess the outlook up here isn't that bad. For Miami no idea though.

I used to play it way back, but using 15 mm figs, is a cool set of rules that is actually historically based on ancient civs.

I'd give it a shot if I could inherit a cheap army

You can use your Empire army to start things off...WAB uses the saem size models as WHFB. I have the regular rulebook and the Armies of Antiquity Rulebook. Played the Huns previously, which were a lot of fun to play. Was thinking of playing Samurai next. Most games are designed to be played with armies from the same era/location...so an early Roman army shouldn't be playing a Samurai, but you can do it. Lot of fun for the game...far less cheese then WHFB or WH40K, no magic phase...leadership is far more important. There are still uber-units/armies, but they aren't as prevelant, nor are they as broken (unless you're using a mostly Elephant Indian army...then you're just a douche!). At any rate, it has many of the same mechanics as WHFB, with a few positive changes. Loads of fun!

i would prob play egyptians, Chariots FTW !! used to play macedonians, hehe..Uber Phalanx, Companion cavalry and Indian Elefants = omfg, you are dead !

I wouldn't mind playing the romans... sounds cool

Romans are of course, VERY good, joel mentioned that this was a Battlefront thing that they partnered with this other company named Warlords, warlords makes 28mm plastic ancient figs, but so far they only have Celts and romans, the figs look pretty nice though, but 28mm is kinda big .. how big are the warhammer figs ? 25mm ?

they have rules for pretty much all the ancient civs, for spartans of other countries you would prob have to get them from another maker. Warlords SO FAR only makes plastic romans and celts.

Actually Luis,Warlord Games makes metal romans and celts too.Take a look at their site:Click here Anyways...the Romans look awesome.If I were to play I'd play them.

Back to WAB, I was checking out some of the models from foundry. And damn if they aren't expensive. So, does anyone actually play this game or have an army?

Warlords makes them plastic and aint to expensive, but they only have Romans and Celts, depends how much Joel sells them for i may grab a Celt army.

I play Junior Varsity,most of the kids are about my size.Varsity is where the big kids are at.

I know... just raggin on ya a little.... all in good fun.

I'm just jealous cause I didn't play football in highschool, my mamma wouldn't let me.
