im starting this bloggy thread to get feedback on my genecult.currantly i'm at work so no pics but when i do get home ill post so crappy pics of half paint stuff on my workbench. bu ti will thell you what i have as a lil teaser

just put ev erything in industral degreaser so all the paint should be off be tomarrow am

GOT MOST OF THE LIMO DONE THIS AM,JUST NEEDS A WASH AND TO FINSH THE DETAIL OF THE NIDDY STUFF ON SIDES




I LEFT THE FIRST COAT OF GREEN ON SINCE IT IS SUPPOSE TO BE RAGTAGGY AND NOT EVERY CIVILAIN IS A AUTO-PAINTER

Interesting, I'll save comments for when she is done. Right now try layering your green flames so ther is some variation of color making itblighter at the front to darker in the back perhaps sp it looks hotter up front. I'm wondering what the stat equivilant on this model will be.

Asko consider using guitar string for spark plug wires on the engine. This does tempt me to get a car modelthough for a 40k take
on the movie death race.

it only has 2 heavy stubbers in fixed foreward postion,bs 3, armor 10 around

coven limo is finshed.gave it a brown wash to help blend the colors and to give it a more dirthy and used look.




on the work bench:

hybrid's backpacks. magnus's backpack is the oone with the grunt heads.


protype of the atv bike squad.since one a squad can be upgraded with a flamer or grenade launcher,this is the one with the flamer.still some work to do but you get the idea.

got the leman russ done mostly just need to get some green stuff to fix the seems on the sponsers.i wanted the sponsers seem like the cult added then on after they jacked the tank. the best name for the tank i could come up with is "the believer",if you guys cme up with a better name please lemme know





thought the rear of the tank was a lil plain so i add some bitz i had to spice it up.

nice work. and dicsk tracy comes to mind for me. but still some highlights in the flames will make it look killer

i dont do many tanks so i need input on it
i put the smoke launcher on that side thing on turrent and i hope the tracks are faceing the right way

This paintjob is the best nid stuff ive seen in a long time. Keep up the great work

UPDATE

here is magus phillips and the hybrid bodyguard. bodyguard is armed with devourers and the venom cannon is a missle luacher i just used the cannon for looks.



im taking a lil break from painting my nids since the new dex comes out in half a month so i get the cult done.next on the painting table is the gun trucks

Nice conversions and paint scheme.
Though I am with Mike on your choice of using Marine, but what the hell they look good.

im not using that many marines just those 6. had to do something with those 4th edtion starter marines.

the back story is that my magus was a high ranking marine infected durning a space hulk raid and started doing experiments on the gene-seed with tyranid dna till he was caught but he and his hybrid bodygruad evaded capture.

most the cult is guardsmen since they will basicly do just about anything a marine says .btw i need some good and hopply cheap cilvian models.

Good back story and reason for the Marines considering some of the simliar story arcs I've read in a few books. Usually the marines die off but really makes for a good story and a nice rivalry for any marine player you go up against for wanting to destroy the tainted flesh of the emporer's finest.

You know John you could also leave it as your leader being a former Imperial noble, one with enough power, wealth, and influence to have gotten ahold of a few suits of power armor (it isn't completely restricted to Marines or Sisters of Battle) before he was infected and became a magus.
You could also have it that the bodyguards are now the 3rd generation hybrids... which if I'm remembering this correctly start showing signs of beyond human strength and speed (comparable enough to a marine in game terms) but have yet to grow extra genestealer like limbs.
