Next tourney?

Got no problem with higher point tourney.

1750 is the standard number for FOW, at least thats what the Nationals tournament was and most other tournaments I've seen advertised.

Points 1500, or 1750, Mid-War or Late-War, all can be decided by the players. Everything is about enjoying FOW.
But in fairness to other players we all have to decide what we want and give enough notice so players can prepare for the tournament.

I suggest we stick to Midwar this upcoming event but bump it up to 1750 points

true.Good thing about my Germans is that it doesn't change much in late war.

I meant for the next tourney only. I definately would like to have a late war one soon after maybe the Sept or Oct.

Yewa I would like to play lw eventually too.

So what are the rules gonna be for the 08/31/08 tournament ? somoene make an official sing up post for it with the details on the rules and stuff.

We should do a team tourney sometime.players pick a teammate and they both make a 600pt list.So each team would have 1200 points in total.

i dont like team tournaments, im always left wanting to take more than my share

You should bump the point allotment higher I think if that were the case. 600 pts per side means the games are gonna go quick as you'll likely only have 2 to 3 platoons per player.

Well it'd be 1200pts in total per team so it should take just a little less than a 1500pt game.

@Jerry: So is this month's tourney gonna be 1500 or 1750?

More points = more time.

Do you want to drop one game and make it just two games per tournament? To me this would be the only way to work more points in. I think everyone can agree that six to eight hours is enough fun.

If you want team play, most, if not all of the participants would have to agree, I believe that is only fair.

I don't think that the addition of just 250pts would much of a difference in time.

from 1500 to 1750 is not much a diff, we can easely play 2250 games in 2 hours, having just 2 rounds wouldnt be that great having 3 games gives you more of a chance to bounce back from a bad start.

I agree, you should keep the same time limit and the amount of games and bump up the points to 1750 pts. That really is only like adding one more platoon to your army.

Usually it's either beefing up the rest of your platoons or adding 1 more. Most games can still take in the same time limit for only 250 more pts.

Agreed, if we have some type of time limit, then in theory you could have a 8000 point army and still have 3 games.
2 hour x 3 = 6 hours total, throw in a lunch and some breaks, wow 8 frig-gin hours. Well may be 30 minute lunch, and couple of 15 minute breaks, still 7 hours!

Now how long should each session be?
Hour and an half or two hour time limit?

I believe strongly in 3 games per tournament.

So far the majority would like 1750 points, yes?

Yes.

A 7 hour tournament is not a long tournament. The last Warhammer tourney lasted about 8 hours. It wasn't too bad.

1750 points !!!

7 hours is not bad, 8 is the average, the key is to stick to the time limit and just call DICE DOWN! when the timer ends.

I vote 1750 with 3 rounds.
