Is that sarcasm? Can't tell. I do know Joel will never close the store if possible.

Re: Infinity Hype!
Sorry Jspyd3rx, if you never have met me, I am a wise-ass dick-head (sort of nice dick-head).
It was just Frantic and I (I don't count because I don't play Infinity).
I turn over some really cool terrain for Infinity players or any Sci-Fi 28/32mm based game. Frantic is now the owner and I believe in him. He really supports the gaming community. I believe what I gave him is superior to most terrain out there. He will post the pictures. It still needs to be painted. If I have time I will finish it.
Honestly I don't think that will happen in the near future, if ever, I am already painting two commissions for customers. But if I can, I will.

Re: Infinity Hype!
I played my first games of infinity this afternoon with Rufus. It's a brutal system. No doubt about it. He proxied ariadna while I proxied the combined army. Rufus won with an absolutely brutal shooting phase in which he shot a hmg at my leader needing 5s on 4 dice and hitting three times. That's more of less all she wrote after that debacle.

Not a fan of CCGarmory.com. I ordered my Ariadne models on April 12th and still doesn't look like they have been shipped. They have no phone # and have not answered my emails.

Re: Infinity Hype!
Got my models today! They look great. Already got em built and primed. So when's the next game?
Re: Infinity Hype!
OK - super easter sale at maelstorm
additional 16% off with code: EASTER-2011
I looked long and hard at Combinded Army, but the starter set didn't jive (3 seed soilders when AVA is 2, 1 melee guy).
In the end I picked up 300 points worth of Yu Jing (8 models, so I hope I built something competitive) for $50.88 (free shipping!). You can't beat that!

Re: Infinity Hype!
YJ are tough... I love them. I was going to pick them until I met my true love. The Swiss Guard. Those figures are amazing.
Yesw I know i am being superficial, but isnt the whole point to play with figures you love looking at?
Remember, it is better to look good then to win. Wait or is it the other way around. Oh well.
I learned that hard way that you want to keep your LT hidden for most of the game and not make him one or your elite guys. Also if you have a guy with chain of Command that might help in case the LT is shot to crap.

Re: Infinity Hype!
As I said before I'm doing haqqislam. So far I got just the starter for them but I'm expecting 2 more minis in the mail this week. That will give me enough for a 200 point game. Hopefully I can grab the next two I need next week so I can bump up to 300.
Jerry, I'll get the pics onto the computer tomorrow morning and post em up.

Re: Infinity Hype!
Just got out of work and checked the mail. Got three more minis from malestorm, so they take about 2 1/2 weeks. Not too bad for free shipping.

You do realize that 2 of those weeks is the box sitting in US customs? Anytime you buy or ship international - expects AT LEAST 2 weeks for delivery.

Re: Infinity Hype!
I built a Shavashii list that seems competitive (10 models, SWG 6).
Their special rules just seem so cool that I picked up 300 points of those as well.
Infinity models are hot itmes on BTown - I already have a pending $14 profit on my Yu Jing list.

So you're selling your Yu jing before it comes in? I guess you really wanted your sneaky aliens!

Re: Infinity Hype!
I might - I may keep both. Let's see what happens.
The Yu Jing were super cheap (starter + 2, used my maelstorm dollars). Kyles one negative was that I only had 8 vs. 10 to maximize the groups orders. Also, they were all super expensive. I've no doubt this "Secret Service Seal Squad" would perform, but I also see them like many other lists. Snipers, check. Grenades, check. etc.
The aliens were more because 1 starter set model is useless and this list has 10 (starter +5). It also took additional reaserch to understand the units and build a conhesive (and themed, I wanted to be themed) list. These will play VERY differently than most (ala Daemons in 40k) and I really like that.
TBD if I'll keep both or recoup some of the alien costs

Re: Infinity Hype!
Can someone please make a poll for who is playing what factions. I tried making one but failed. I have no idea how to make it.

Re: Infinity Hype!
Look at the human sphere rules. You get bonuses for having your group made entirely from one faction.

Re: Infinity Hype!
The combine are very unique army and seem to be the less played faction too. If you want something different I guess it's a good way to go. And they got giant sky dropping crab dudes.
The human sphere sectorial army list rules basically are like the WM/Hordes themed lists where the army construction availability of certain units are changed and you get some bonuses as well for playing the themed list. You generally lose the ability to use a bunch of various units in your army while increasing the specific factions availability.
