Re: Sunday 31 MAY TOURNAMENT
Yes, I see, LOTR.
The Baltimore GT last year (All GW games shared the same scoring system) used a battle score of 20 max per game to a total of 100. Scoring was divided into battle(100), sportsmanship (50), and painting (50).
Also, rather than having a win, loss, and draw, dividing it up further into major/minor/draw/major loss/minor loss adds more variance and also represents a degree of victory or loss.
Just something to look into.

Re: Sunday 31 MAY TOURNAMENT
Oh and there was not a single Mordor or Isenguard player to be seen. So, not a single troll in the tournament. And we had 8 players.

Re: Sunday 31 MAY TOURNAMENT
Yeah it was a fun tournament for sure!
Thanks to Dave, Bill, and Ed for some quality games and a lot of fun! The general WoTR player seemed to have a lot more fun with the game that was most enjoyable!
I'll be writing up a little battle report here soon and hopefully posting it tonight.

Re: Sunday 31 MAY TOURNAMENT
The winners for the first War of the Ring are:
First place - Dan
Second place - Eric
Third - Ed
Fourth - Oscar
Thank you to everyone for showing up.
It went smoother then I thought it would. Very fast and the outcome unpredictable.
Much thanks to those individuals (Shadow, Saj) who contribute to Ed's winnings with their own prize, and thus enable him to acquire an army of a 1000 points!
The top prize was $80.00 second was $55.00; third $30.00 and fourth was $18.00.
We missed all the players that could not make it. Hopefully you will be able in July. The proposed dates are the 21 or 26 of July. Lets start talking about which is the better date now.
We should have pointed out to JC and his brother that there was no RaggydiAss in this tournament (Allie can not exceed 25% total cost) of 600 points, but he probably be in the next tournament which will be at least 800 points.
I think there should be a section on this forum just for tournaments (I talking about LotR section). Were we can discuss scenario's, the best dates, what to do if we have an odd number of players, what's the maximum time limit per game and so on.
I want the tournaments to be the best that is reasonably possible. I never make everyone happy, but I will attempt to work towards that. So please tell me your suggestions. I know the Altar of Evil scenario needs major re-working as it is broken, but I like and I think if fix it can be an exciting scenario. I plan on play testing new scenario's right away, which what I should have done in the first place. There will be more terrain and better terrain.
I think ten players is the comfort zone for the space and logistics of Sunshine, what do you think?

Re: Sunday 31 MAY TOURNAMENT
I think 10 players is great, also I think a tournament discussion forum would be a good idea. I lost second place to victory points, now I'm not complaining, but I was at the top table that decided first place, and maybe if I understood the rules a little better I'd have racked up a few more victory points in the process. Also if everyone gets a say in the scenarios and rules, it really makes it OUR tournament.

Re: Sunday 31 MAY TOURNAMENT
So no tournament in June?? And if we have to wait to July I vote for the 19th (I'm guessing that's what you meant since it is a sunday and the 21 is not). I will be away for family vacation on the 26th of July.

Re: Sunday 31 MAY TOURNAMENT
The 26 and 21 were the dates given to me, I did not confirm the accurancy days matching.
To keep the prize support fair for all of the GW players I agreed (and I believe Stephen and Chris too) that we would switch off different months.
Although this tournament went better then I had hope, I do not no if I could sustain every month anyway. So it works out fine.
