Sunday 31 MAY TOURNAMENT

In Cement, 31 May, no changes to date from this day on.
Again sorry to all those who can not attend.

The prize support is now $185.00 STARTING! If at least four players show up it will be OVER $200.00 in prize awarded, that is the highest prize that I am aware of. Everyone will get a prize of at least $5.00. NO ONE loses (games may be, but not prize).

There has to be a ten person limit as that is what I think the store can handle. So please do not show up at the last minute and be upset because there is no spot available for you.

Please MAKE a reservation! Six slots are still available.

Hurricane are difinetly attending? Frantic is Ed going? ROK how about you? Can I post all of you names?

Eric and Rick, I have put you on the list.

I really like the FOW point system, and I want the games objective driven and not "How many smurfs did I kill" (although that will be a factor). So, it will be something like this, was the objective achieved, yes/no, what was the army loss, major or minor, add up the points, move on to the next game.

Good sportmanship is REALLY important and will be a tie breaker or perhaps part of the tally.

A painted army will break a tie also, so some players may have advantage, due to the fact their army is already painted. That should inspire you to get your brush out! Come on, its 15 days away, plenty time for a 600 point army.

Agreed. I'm still building stuff and waiting on shipments.
Considering this is a starter game size tourney, I don't think we should count painting yet.

With skills in tactics, stratagem, and sportsmanship, I really do not believe painting is going to give anyone an unfair advantage.

However when everyone shows up and a single player has a painted army, then I will agree that person has unfair advantage. The purpose was only for some form of tie breaker, I am really not expecting this to occur.

But some time in the near future, it should be more of factor.

Guys, stop agonizing over painting your armies, it will never make or break you wining a tournament. I just suggesting that instead of rolling off on a tie that if someone has gone through the trouble to paint an army they should get credit.
I am NOT suggesting you have to paint you army, just that it should not be totally ignore. Some players will never paint their armies and that is just fine with me, but for those that do, perhaps a nod of accomplishment.

Personally I think everyone should make strides to paint their armies, cause its part of the game. I think for many of us here thats what brings us to the game beyond a computer game.

But thats a discussion for a different thread. I'm gonna get as much painted as I can. Until then, no worries from me!

shouldn't painting be like in WFB where it adds some points to your score instead of being a tiebreaker? Anyways, I still gotta finish painting up my tourney force!

Warlord, most if not all of my previous mistake with WotR have carry over from my experiences from WFB. So I really want to stay away from WFB insofar as rules go.

There is nothing on tournaments in the Rule book. I will inquire with GW about WotR tournament rules, unless of course you know of a resource already.

I strongly believe some incentive should be given for the players who went through the trouble to paint their armies, but not scare aware others because of some mandate to paint.

I think play,paint,play, paint more, play again, and so on until you are finished is the best method.

I hope everyone is getting a lot of practice done with their 600 point configuration for the tournament. I play Sunday and Oscar tweak his army a little, and I think he has a killer unit.

The prize pool is one if not the largest the store has provided. This a great way for some one with limited resources to pump up their army. Or if there was an item you were relucant to get due the cost (Mumak) or a special order (no discounts on special orders). Now is the time.

I will try and make myself available for you to practice, but I am also making terrain for the tournament at the same time (mostly on Saturdays).

Solskritt, I eventually would like to have an Apocalypse like tournament involving the forces of good and evil. Everyone puts down there entire army down on the board! NO point limit.
The winning side divides the spoils equally amongst themselves.

Details have to be work out and I am getting ahead of myself.

I have changed the board side from 4x4 to 6x4.

However if more then 10 players show up we will have to change back to the 4x4 to accommodate the others.

Although only six players have "officially" signed up, I am suspecting a lot of players are going to show up unannounced.

If four or more players show up, the prize pool will be at least $200.00!

Get as many practices games in as you can.

Tested 600 point game on 4x4 today and there is plenty of room - so either way should work.
